Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Completed post-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, Construction Management or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Experience: Candidates should have Minimum seven (7) years’ professional experience with capital project planning / scheduling in the AEC environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work effectively with clients and staff at all levels
  • The candidates should show a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a consultative team environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to discern and leverage the individual benefits of CPM and LPS scheduling methodologies
  • The candidates should have familiarity with industry-standard project schedule formats
  • The candidates should exhibit highly developed initiative with the ability to work independently or as a member of a committee or project team
  • The candidates should demonstrate a collaborative mindset with keen facilitation skills
  • The candidates should have proven experience with managing multiple duties concurrently with frequently changing priorities and deadlines, always with a results-oriented focus
  • The candidates should exhibit strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • The candidates should hold a valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver’s license, which is required for travel between University Campuses and/or to consultant/supplier offices, etc.
  • The candidates should demonstrate proficiency in the use of standard office applications such as Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to report to the Director, Project Development, and work with other UPDC departments (University Planning – UP, Project Development – PD, and Project Management – PM)
  • The candidate should be able to serve as the primary point of contact for UPDC’s production of project plans/schedules and review project schedules produced by external parties for all active projects within the UPDC group
  • The candidate should be able to handle project values ranging from $1 million to $250 million, with some projects exceeding this range, encompassing institutional (academic/research), student residential, mixed-use, utility infrastructure, landscape, and other project types
  • The candidate should be able to possess broad knowledge of the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) field and bring experience and technical knowledge to their assigned duties
  • The candidate should be able to review, analyze, and assess schedule information for active projects, providing advice, input, and recommendations regarding schedule projections and risks
  • The candidate should be able to consider project-specific influences, such as stated project programs and budgets, understood feasibility, design complexity, and project phasing during the review process
