Job Description

Position: Cattle ranch worker
No. of vacancies: 3
Salary: $18.00 to $25.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 40 hours per week
Employment type: Permanent employment, Full-time

Job Description

  • The candidate must mark livestock as proof of ownership.
  • The candidate must monitor the calving process.
  • The candidate must perform weaning.
  • The candidate must harvest crops.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate must maintain livestock performance records.
  • The candidate must perform general farm duties.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • A candidate with experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must be well-organized.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • Farm operations include beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots, hay farming, oilseed farming (except soybeans), and other grain farming.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience in operating equipment and machinery such as a seed drill, tractor, combine harvester, farm truck, forage equipment, haying equipment, loader, planting equipment, swather, and tillage equipment, as well as experience in welding.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must specialize in the area of cattle breeding and beef cattle.
