Job Description

• The candidate must plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
• The candidate must respond to customer complaints or concerns.
• The candidate must have mountain driving experience.
• The candidate must maintain professionalism in customer service.
• The candidate must arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations.
• The candidate must drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• The candidate must load and unload goods.
• The candidate must obtain special permits and other documents required for international cargo transport.
• The candidate must inspect the vehicle’s condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, and other essential components.
• The candidate must be able to perform emergency roadside repairs.
• The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all vehicle aspects.
• The candidate will be responsible for recording cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
• The candidate must handle and transport dangerous goods.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must have an AZ class license.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.

• The candidate should have good judgmental skills.

Experience and specialization

Documentation knowledge

• The candidate must be knowledgeable about accident or incident reports, bill of lading, dangerous goods occurrence reports, driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, and trip reports.

Type of trucking and equipment

• The candidate must have experience operating dry bulk and refrigerated trucks.

Transportation/travel experience

• The candidate must have transportation and travel experience at the international, national, provincial/territorial, and regional levels.
• The candidate must have long-haul travel experience.
